Biography
Charitie joined Ryley Carlock & Applewhite in 2007. Charitie practices in the areas of labor and employment law, general commercial litigation, probate litigation, and appellate advocacy.
In her employment practice, Charitie represents employers in litigation before federal and state courts and agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Arizona Civil Rights Division (ACRD). Charitie also provides counseling and training seminars on a wide range of employment matters such as personnel policies, hiring and firing, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour matters, and compliance with state and federal laws.
Charitie is a contributing author of the Arizona Employment Law Handbook, a comprehensive treatise addressing all aspects of employment law in Arizona. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Labor and Employment Law section of the Maricopa County Bar Association.
In addition to her labor and employment experience, Charitie has handled a number of probate and commercial litigation matters and has effectively represented clients in all types of business disputes.
Charitie also has extensive appellate experience. In addition to having handled appeals in the Arizona state appellate courts and in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, Charitie worked for a year as a law clerk to the Honorable Diane M. Johnsen.
Charitie received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Arizona State University's Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law where she was elected to the Order of the Coif. Charitie graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University with a degree in religious studies. She is an alumna of the Barrett Honors College.
She has been named in the prestigious Arizona Super Lawyers.
